If you've used Linux, you probably know the notion of virtual offices. These workspaces to geographically schedule your tasks. Desk first, you can place your software and Windows Internet, on another e.g. desktop applications, on another games, etc...
With Dexpot free software, you can do this directly under Windows.
The software allows you to customize each Office (up to 20 offices!) depending what you want to do: choose a name and a unique to each workspace wallpaper.
You can then choose the Windows open on any desktop, move a window from one desktop to another, opening a window onto several offices at the same time, etc. Everything is possible.
Finally, you can switch quickly from one Office to another by using keyboard shortcuts or even using a very nice 3D interface.
Here is therefore a software that will allow you to organize your Windows and shortcuts to work more efficiently.

Download and install Dexpot
Dexpot is a free software that you can download from PC tricks.

  1. Visit Dexpot plug in the software library PC tricks.
  2. Click on download for free.
  3. Click Save.
  4. After the download finished, click run.
  5. Select English and click OK.
  6. Then click on Next.
  7. Click on I agree.
  8. Check the I use Dexpot only for private purposes and click on Next.
  9. Then uncheck the box I want to install AOL toolbar for free and finally click on install
  10. Finally click close.
  11. Dexpot icon is added to the Windows task bar, in the notification area. Click on it with the right button of the mouse and click on settings.
  12. In the Startupsection, check the boxes to start automatically with Windows and hide the splash screen.
  13. If you are running Windows 7, click on Extras and check SevenDex. You can easily change the desktop from the taskbar.
  14. Validate with OK.



Switch quickly between Office
Dexpot allows you to have four offices to manage your Windows, your shortcuts, etc.

  1. Once the installation is finished, Dexpot is launched. If this is not the case, double click its icon on the desktop.
  2. In Windows 7, click the Dexpot icon in the taskbar: four offices are available. Click the that you want to display.
  3. If not, double click the Dexpot icon in the notification area next to the clock.
  4. Four offices are presented to you in the form of a mosaic. Click on one that interests you.

Customize every desktop
To better find you among all your offices, you can assign them each a wallpaper and a different name.

  1. Click with the right button of the mouse on the icon of Dexpot and click on Configuration of Bureaux.
  2. Select the Office 1 in the left column and in the Propertiestab, give it a name corresponding to the use you want to make, games for example.
  3. Open the wallpaper tab.
  4. Click Browse.
  5. Click Yes to enable the component allowing to use a wallpaper for each Office.
  6. Then select the image to use in this desktop background on your hard disk. Click Open.
  7. Repeat for the other offices.
  8. Validate with OK.
  9. The offices are now renowned. When you click with the right button of the mouse on the icon of Dexpot, you can open an Office by clicking on its name.
  10. Each Office has its wallpaper.

Sort its Windows
Virtual offices will allow you to move your software and Windows of your documents from one Office to another. You can put the Windows of your e-mail and your Web browser software in a special Office, your Windows desktop in another, etc.

  1. Open a program in a particular Office: its window appears only in this one.
  2. To move a window of an Office to another, click with the right button of the mouse on the title bar and click on Dexpot.
  3. Click move and choose the Office to send the window.
  4. If you want some Windows to be present on all offices, after right click on the title of the window, click on Dexpot, copy all.

Set on a specific desktop Windows
If you want that software or window be opened automatically in a specific Office, you need a rule.

  1. Launch the software in question. Click with the right mouse button in the title bar of its window and click on Dexpot Rule Creation.
  2. In the window that appears, type a name for the rule and click Next.
  3. Make sure that the program in question is knowledgeable in the area Condition 1 and click Next.
  4. Then define the action to be applied, for example moves .
  5. Select the Office of destination. Click on continue
  6. Click on Finish.
  7. In the rules window, click apply for an immediate effect. Finally click OK.

Change desktop 3D
You can apply spectacular effects when changing the Office.

  1. Right-click the Dexpot icon in the notification area and click settings.
  2. In the window that appears, choose Extras.
  3. Check the front of the Dexcubeplugin. Validate with OK.
  4. Now, use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + Alt + left arrow or Ctrl + Alt + right arrow to move from one Office to another in 3D.
